A modern and powerful IT infrastructure and the accompanying support are requirements for teaching, learning, study, research and administrative work. Through the ongoing development of its internal processes, digital infrastructure and IT services, HAW Hamburg is adapting its IT landscape to meet the demands and needs in the areas of studies, teaching, research and continuing development.
In the area of digital infrastructure and IT services, HAW Hamburg is pursuing the following goals:
1. Reorganisation and further development of the IT Service Center (ITSC)

The IT Service Centre (ITSC) is being reorganised and further developed – in terms of staff, organisation and technology. The demands on the centrally provided IT services have increased significantly and the effective implementation of the digitalisation strategy is only possible with these measures.
2. IT governance

Well-founded and strategic decisions in the IT area are only possible when decision-making responsibilities are clearly and efficiently defined. For this reason, HAW Hamburg is optimising its IT governance.
3. IT structures

In order to respond to university members' changing needs and demands, the technical and organisational IT structures and processes across the entire university are being adapted to current requirements in the areas of teaching, learning, studies, research, administration and continuing education.
4. Information security management

In order to systematise and document the diverse security measures and policies, HAW Hamburg aims to develop an information security management system.
