Data Literacy in Context
Data Literacy in Context (DaLiCo) aims to support skill-building in the handling of data, across subject areas and disciplines. The topic of data literacy is examined not in relation to one discipline or university, but rather from an international and interdisciplinary perspective and in a larger context, in cooperation with three European universities – in the Netherlands (Hogeschool Utrecht), Spain (Universitat Politècnica de València) and Hungary (University of Debrecen). This strategic partnership is supported by the European Union as part of the Erasmus+ programme and promotes cooperation between departments, institutions and external partners. In doing so, it supports the establishment of a data literacy community for the transmission of data literacy skills.
HAW Hamburg is responsible for coordinating this Erasmus+ project. As part of the project, concepts and prototypes are being developed for the compilation of data-skills resources as a 'data literacy map', a train-the-trainer concept, a learning space, and a measurement and evaluation tool for data literacy. As a final step, a pilot concept for the institutional implementation of joint international data literacy standards in selected curricula at the partner universities will be developed.
