CARPE – Consortium on Applied Research and Professional Education
CARPE is the first consortium of European applied science universities and a strategic alliance for applied research and career education. Every partner works closely with small and middle-sized companies and industrial firms and is closely connected with local and regional administrative bodies and public institutions.
Vision and goals

The CARPE partners work together to increase the quality of both their degree courses and their research. They contribute to regional development and help increase innovation in the European context.
The goals of the CARPE collaboration:
- Information exchange and cooperation within European research programmes and the expansion of international research collaborations
- Joint degree courses
- Student and staff exchanges (including non-academic staff)
- Increased visibility within Europe
- Enhanced linkages between the European research/education sectors and companies and other partners

The CARPE consortium was founded in 2011 by the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, the Turku University of Applied Sciences and the Universitat Politècnica de València.
