Degree courses with first-semester tutorials
Since winter semester 2004/05, first-semester tutorials have been offered in selected technical degree courses. Following a successful pilot phase, the First-Year Orientation Team became a permanent unit at the university in 2007. It is responsible for expanding first-semester tutorials to other HAW Hamburg degree courses and ensuring long-term tutorial quality.
First-semester tutorials are offered in approximately 50 per cent of the degree courses across all of the faculties. An overview of the degree courses with first-semester tutorials is available here. You can also see the degree courses with tutorials below. The tutorials begin at the same time as the course lectures. Students will be informed of the time and place during their department's orientation unit.
First-semester tutorials in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science
Department of Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering

First-semester tutorials are offered for the Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering and Mechatronics degree courses.
The tutorial for the Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering degree courses will take place in three groups as of October 2023.

- Group C
The Mechatronics tutorial will take place in one group starting in October 2023.
