The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science is the largest faculty at HAW Hamburg, teaching approximately 6,000 students in four departments and 21 degree courses. It addresses important societal issues such as the mobility of the future, digitialisation and sustainable energy supply. We ensure students' professional success not only by imparting the necessary technical and academic knowledge, but also by facilitating their practical application of this knowledge in labs and companies.

Our faculty is led by the dean's office, which is advised and overseen by a faculty council. The faculty administration supports the faculty in carrying out its work. The dean's office, the administrative offices, the departments, and the research and transfer centres are all located at the Berliner Tor Campus, facilitating close collaboration.

To the Faculty of Life Sciences

The Faculty of Design, Media and Information offers degree courses in a range of areas, including design courses, media technology courses such as light and sound design and games design, and information and media courses. The instructors have backgrounds in both academia and the field. Using contemporary teaching methods, they illustrate complex interrelationships in a understandable way and facilitate reflective practice.

Since fall 2010, the Faculty of Design, Media and Information (DMI) has been housed at the Hamburg Arts and Media Campus and the Armgartstraße Campus.

To the Faculty of Design, Media and Information

In the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, approximately 4,000 students in four departments and 20 degree courses acquire the practice-based skills and knowledge necessary to identify sustainable solutions to the central challenges facing society. The four departments cover the areas of nursing and management, public management, social work and childhood education, and business.

The faculty is led by the dean's office, which is guided and overseen by the faculty council and other advisory bodies and individuals. The faculty administration supports the academics and students in carrying out their teaching, research and studies.

All of the faculty's five entities, including the research and transfer centres, are located at the Berliner Tor Campus.
