Information about summer semester 2024 for new students
Welcome to HAW Hamburg

Get to know the professors and instructors, explore the campus together with students from higher semesters, and spend some free time together.
Bachelor's students
For first-semester Bachelor's students in the following degree courses:
- Biotechnology
- Biomedical Engineering
- Hazard Control (winter semester)
- Rescue Engineering (summer semester)
- Environmental Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Nutrition and Home Economics
- Health Sciences
The orientation units will begin on Tuesday, 2 April 2024. The programme will take place on campus.

Master's students
The first-semester welcome ceremonies for the following Master's degree courses will take place when lectures begin:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Health Sciences
- Food Science (winter semester)
- Medical Technology and Healthcare Business (EMMAH) (winter semester)
- Public Health (winter semester)
- Process Engineering
- Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
- Renewable Energy Systems - Environmental and Process Engineering (winter semester)
There are currently no plans for a central event. Please be sure to check your emails for more information. Students will be welcomed as part of their lectures. The lectures will be held on campus.
The date for the welcome ceremony for first-semester students in the Master's degree course in
- Industrial Engineering and Management
