weBuddy programme
With its weBuddy programme, HAW Hamburg welcomes its new international students and visiting students, helping them as they get settled and start their studies. Experienced HAW Hamburg students – so-called 'buddies' – support the first-semester students in their challenging early days in the city and at the university, giving them a warm and hospitable reception.
The International Office organises a Welcome Week with various events and a welcome dinner in the days directly before the semester starts. During the semester there are also regular events such as field trips, bowling afternoons and cooking evenings.
Our goal is to make sure you feel welcome and are able to make lots of new international friendships.
